Europe Lecture 2014 speech Jonathan Holslag online

DEN HAAG (PDC) - The speech given by Jonathan Holslag during the Europe Lecture 2014 is published online. The Europe Lecture was held in the Kloosterkerk in The Hague on the 28th of October 2014. Almost 500 people attended this year's lecture. 

International Relations professor Jonathan Holslag spoke together with Vaira V e-Freiberga, former president of Latvia, on the subject of 'Peace and Security in Europe'. Tom de Bruijn, alderman of The Hague, moderated the lecture. 

In his speech Holslag warned against the negative consequences of the loss of prosperity in Europa has for the European level of security. Uncertainty in the international politics leads to the rise of nationalism and protectionism. Europe is in need of a new model in order not to get lost in these tumultuous times, but to evelate itselfs
