Cyprus: Appreciation and support for Chambers of Commerce

Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle met in Brussels the presidents of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Phidias Pilides and Fikri Toros. The meeting took place in the presence of a representative from Eurochambres.

Commissioner Füle expressed his appreciation and willingness to find ways to support the chambers' joint efforts towards establishing a positive environment for a comprehensive solution of the Cyprus issue. The Commissioner, inspired by concrete ideas and initiatives mentioned, encouraged the chambers to continue their valuable cooperation and expressed his hope that the chambers' interaction will also result in result in increased business opportunities across the Green Line.
