Commissioner Štefan Füle in Pristina about negotiations on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement

Commissioner Füle will be in Pristina on 18 July to meet with Kosovo leaders and to congratulate them after the Council of 28 June gave the green light for opening of negotiations on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement.

Commissioner Füle will be discussing how best to prepare for the negotiations of the agreement on both EU and Kosovo sides. Among the topics on the agenda, there will be the importance of keeping up the pace of reforms, in particular as regards elections, rule of law and trade issues. Commissioner Füle will also encourage the Kosovo leadership to continue engaging constructively in the dialogue with Belgrade and to implement the agreements reached to date.

"Kosovo has made a major step on its path to the European Union. I welcome the political consensus in Kosovo on its European agenda and on its engagement with Serbia. These continuous efforts have been fundamental in achieving this success," Commissioner Füle said.
