Message of congratulations by President Barroso on the nomination of Ms Alenka Bratušek as Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia

The President of the European Commission, José Manuel Durão Barroso, sent a letter of congratulations to Ms Alenka Bratušek on the occasion of her nomination as Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia:

"On behalf of the European Commission and myself, I have the pleasure to convey to you my warmest congratulations on the occasion of your nomination as Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.

Your appointment comes at a challenging time for Slovenia and the European Union as a whole. I am confident that you will make a valuable contribution to our joint efforts to successfully craft a new deal for Europe and its citizens and strengthen our Union.

I wish you every success in your mandate as Prime Minister and I look forward to working with you in building a prosperous and strong Europe, which is our joint responsibility."
