On 6 and 7 December, the 5th edition of the European Development Days (EDD) will take place in the Square meeting Centre, Brussels. The event is organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the Belgian Presidency of the European Union. The EDD is a flagship event which showcases the EU's continuing and enduring commitment to development. The press conference will take place on 7 December 2010 at 13.00 in Square, Brussels.

European Development Days were launched in 2006 as a vehicle for aid effectiveness and an opportunity to strengthen the European Consensus on development cooperation. The four previous editions have featured 31 Heads of State, 44 Heads of Government or ministers and 6 Nobel Prize winners. The last edition in 2009 in Stockholm attracted a total of 6000 participants.
