Voorzitter Eurogroup in Praag voor voorbereiding Europese Raad (en)

On 12 March, Jean-Claude Juncker will hold talks with the President of the European Council, Mirek Topolánek, Alexandr Vondra and Miroslav Kalousek.

Preparations for the European Council will be the key item on the agenda.

At 2:45 p.m. on Thursday 12 March, Alexandr Vondra, the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, will receice the Prime Minister and Finance Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Jean-Claude Juncker, in the Liechtenstein Palace. Mr Juncker will also meet Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek and Minister for Finance Miroslav Kalousek on the same day.

The main subject of the negotiations with Jean-Claude Juncker, who is chairman of the Eurogroup - an informal grouping of eurozone finance ministers - will be economic issues. Discussions will centre on the preparations for the Spring European Council, which will principally deal with the economic situation in the EU: the European Recovery Plan, regulation and supervision of financial institutions and preparations for the G20 Summit.

The meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vondra will be attended, inter alia, by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Czech Republic, His Excellency Jean Faltz, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Her Excellency Katerina Lukešová and the Assistant Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Marek Mora.
