24 landen aangesloten op Schengen Informatie Systeem (en)

Met dank overgenomen van Portugees voorzitterschap Europese Unie 2e helft 2007, gepubliceerd op maandag 3 september 2007.

Since September 1st that all States now operating within the Schengen area able to have access to the common data base, due to the implementation of the Portuguese project, SISone4all.

At this moment, there is a system encompassing 24 countries that are linked to one another. This is the result of a remarkable cooperation within the European Union. All Member States have the same information and the same data base, for the security of all.

The Minister of Home Affairs pointed out, during a ceremony at SEF, on 31 August, the conclusion of technical tests, formal and informal, as well as migration for the SISone4all System.

During the month of September the evaluation of the proper use and good knowledge of the Schengen Information System will begin, in each of the States now in operation, to confirm the opening of terrestrial and maritime borders at the end of the year.
