Cedefop is organising a two-day synthesis seminar on the findings of study visits that took place in the academic years 2010/11 and 2011/12. The event will be held on 6 and 7 June 2012 in Thessaloniki.
The objective is to discuss policies and practices and to explore solutions to the challenges that vulnerable adult learners (migrants and ethnic minorities, low-skilled and older people) face in gaining access to the labour market. The participants will explore and discuss the findings of study visits in the following areas:
-
•helping adult migrants and ethnic minorities to enter and/or stay in the labour market;
-
•supporting adult low-skilled and older workers (+55) to find a job and/or stay in employment.
The seminar will bring together around 40 organisers and participants of study visits, representatives of initiatives identified as examples of good practice during the visits, experts on the themes and representatives of the national agencies. The participants are directors of education and vocational training institutions, training directors, representatives of guidance or validation/accreditation centres, associations supporting social and occupational integration of disadvantaged groups, regional or local educational administrations and researchers from different European countries participating in the study visits programme.
