Last week Hanne Dahl formed part of a European Parliament (AFCO) delegation to Prague, believing it would be a courtesy visit to the country that will take over the EU presidency next January. What took place instead was a huge embarassment to the EU as the Czech representatives were threatened and bullied by the most eager MEPs in the AFCO delegation.

President Sarkozy's call for a "clearly identified economic government" for the Eurozone shows us just how dangerous the Lisbon Treaty and by extension the EU really is. What we have seen is a massive failure, not of capitalism, but of regulation. But it becomes apparent that the European elite can only see opportunity for aggrandisement in the face of disaster.

Nigel Farage (UKIP - UK) and Hanne Dahl (June Movement - DK) were tonight elected Co-Presidents of the Independence/Democracy Group in the European Parliament. The results mean that the two Co-Presidents compliment one another in gender, age and political perspective.

Protestors from across the EU gathered in Brussels, October 15, to demonstrate against the imposition of the Lisbon treaty, rejected with the Irish referendum last June. The demonstrations coincided with the European Council meeting (15-16 October) during which Irish Taoiseach Brian Cowen promised EU leaders that by the next meeting in December he will come up with "the necessary steps that need to be taken next year... with a view to our defining together the elements of a solution and a common path to follow."
